I am running front page 98, and OS is XP professional... This error
keeps on happening when I try to public to my local computer. At first
I was able to publish some of the web to my local computer, but then
the error happened, and doesn't stop. If my FP extensions are
corrupted, is it possible to download new or updated ones? Thanks.

Do you have IIS and the FP2000 Extensions installed and configured from your Windows XP Pro CD?

....and, did you do a custom install of FP 98 on WinXP, so it did *not*
install the FP PWS, which is not compatible with WinXP?
