Server Extensions and publishing

I read in a response to a prior question "You are not publishing correclty"..

My question is how can you publish incorrectly and is there a resource to
show the difference between correctly publishing and incorrectly publishing..

I think I'm in the incorrect catagory as my shared borders no longer show on
my main page and the forms no longer work. What's interesting is if I
http:// directly to the sub pages the shared border is there and works..

Thanks in advance

Correct way to publish....

If remote server has FP extensions, then use File Menu | Publish Web / Site and enter the URL
beginning with http://www.domainname.com

Publishing incorrectly means not using the Publish feature in FP.

although you CAN still publish your pages via FTP but this increase the chances
of corrupting the frontpage extensions and therefore losing 99% of the
functionality Frontpage offers.
