Server Information Changes

I have a reoccuring problem that I can not figure out.
Each time I start my computer and then start Outlook, the
settings are changed. Specifically, the Logon Infomation
User Name is appended with the information in the
Incoming Mail Server box and the Incoming Mail Server box
has local>>> in it. Each day I have to delete the
appended information and move it back to the Incoming
Mail Server box. Why won't it stay once I have changed
it. I have tried deleting and starting with new e-mail
accounts and anything else short of a complete
reinstall. Has anyone seen this problem and can it be
fixed.
