<server> ???

I am reading FrontPage 2003 Step by Step to get a better handle on
Frontpage.

In the Remote Web site location box, I am asked to type
http://<server>Publish Remote.

Problem is - is the <server> my web address, the web address of my hosting
company, or what? Where can I find it? Should I use the < > brackets?

It is to be as: http://www.yourdomain.com Replace "yourdomain" and possibly
replace ".com" with yours which may be ".org", ".net" or whatever.

You would type in the URL of your web site, such as:

http://www.yourdomainname.com

No brackets, etc. just what you see in the above example.

yes the <server> is your host/web space. No you don't need the brackets.
angle brackets indicates what you type in as *your* web address/server, as
the author of the book is not going to know what your web address is! so
it's just a generic way of indicating what you type in place of the <server>
bit.

I had tried permutations of these suggestions - problem is a typo in this
Microsoft book on page 268 - the final "/" is missing from the example.

Now I have the AdminSite running, or at least open, but the book sadly
explains that ... "the web server used in this exercise is running
SharePoint Services. If your server is running FP Server extensions, your
experience will be different from that shown here"

Different?!?

OK guys ... what's different? ... and do you know something legible that
explains how I can check the statistics on my web pages (to determine which
pages to alter or even delete.)

Best to contact your host to see what Web stats they offer
Also they may support the Usage Analysis (ask them to enable it) under the FP 2002 SE (in FP 2003 - View Reports)
