Service Pack 2

Is there any way to know whether or not I have Service
Pack 2 installed? If I reinstall it and already have it
is there a problem? I am unable to download large files
over email and think there is a fix for this in that
pack. I have gone to look for "critical updates" at
microsoft and it does not show up that I need it but
everything I have read regarding the error messeges I get
refers me to download this pack.

When I looked on my control panel I see a lot of hot
fixes for Windows Xp but not for Office Professional Xp
so does this mean perhaps I need a service pack for
Office Professional Xp?
Thanks, Kay

Okay, start Word, then click on Help | About Microsoft Word. You should
see something like "Microsoft Word 2002 (10.xxxx.xxxx) SPx", where SPx
is the current service pack level of your installation.

I opened My Documents and opened Help and it gave the
choice About Microsoft Windows and apparently I have
Windows version 5.1 and SP 1. I'm assuming I need to
install SP 2 for XP? And how do I know about
Office....whether or not I have SP 2? Thanks for your
help.

WORD Help, About... not Windows Help, About. However, yes, you will need to
install SP2 for XP: the added security measures are important.
