In reference to someone else's question I just read, I also tried
unsuccessfully to install Office Service Pack 3. The install patch web page
says to have the CD ready in the CD drive. The patch downloads, and then
halfway through the installation, it brings up a message saying
"Installation Unsuccessful
Office 2000 Service Pack 3 - English Version".
Sounds like the same problem "blanet2" wrote in about on 9/16/04. This is
supposed to be an automatic patch to Office 2000 SP-1. Hope someone has an
answer.

You must install Service Pack 1 before tou cam install Service Pack 3

I found that if I check for Service pack 1 and then 2 and installed them that
service pack 3 then installed with no problem.
