service process couldn't be start (eventlog message after install)

Hello,

I installed Project Server 2007 for the second time. The first installation
was in a test environment and Project Server works correctly.

Now I installed it in our "live" environment the same way, same users ... 1:1.
But after the installation (finished without failures) the eventlog is full
of messages.
Our system is in german, so I don't know the correct translation.

The two services "ProjectQueueService" and "pjevtsvc" can't be started and
it refers to the specified user. But in the test environment the service
starts with the same user.

We are having the same problem. We have an Project Server 2007 installed in
the SharePoint Office Server 2007 farm. Please let me know if you find a
solution.

If I find a solution I'll post it here. And if you have a way, please let it
know me, too.

Hello,

this might be the solution: The user named in the "security" section in the
event log (look at the 3rd picture, username (benutzername): ssp) had to be
addes to the group of local administrators.

I used the user to install the shared services provider. I'm not sure if I
used it for other SharePoint or Project webapplications.

So, my tipp: Look in the security event log at any entry to the same time,
when you got the error messages under "application".

Okay, and finally stop and restart the project service using the sharepoint
central administration

Hello !

Let's open this topic again, I've got exactly the same Event ID.
The thing is, I do have a granted access in the security menu (not a closed
padlock).

"ProjectQueueService" and "pjevtsvc" can't start as well. The main
difference I've noticed is that the error entry don't match a particular
user. I've got N/A.

(Sorry for english, I'm french...)
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

It's okay. I've solved my problem. It was the same as Angie R said, but with
a little difference : I've use a BuiltIn account (Network Service) to solve
it because my Administrator was not able to launch the service. I've not
exactly understand why, but it works :)

I have exactly the same problem as yours but i cannot fix it.
"ProjectQueueService" and "pjevtsvc" don't start. Can you tell me with all

Thanks for your help.

Any Idea which rights the user actually needs to work properly?

I had the same errors. Sharepoint Services are installed on a domain
controller (SBS2003), so there is of course no "local admin" group on that
machine, and I don't really want to grant "domain administrator" to the
sharepoint service account. It works well that way, but gives me a headache
for security reasons.
