Set task to continue in weekend

B

Bart

Dear all,

Is it possible to set a task to continue in the weekend?
We are working on some projects which can continue in the weekend. Other
project can't. That's why I want to select specific tasks and only these
tasks continue in the weekend.

FYI: I am using Microsoft Project 2002

Thank you in advance

Hi,

Under Tools, Change Working Time create a new Weekend calendar that includes
weekends as working time.

Double-click relevant tasks and under Advanced tab select the weekend
calendar in the Calendar drop down. Optionally set Task ignores resource
calendar option. Now selected task is scheduled weekend work.

You need to make your resources available to work on the weekend in
question by changing their calendars. In order to make one project
workable and the other not, you have to apply a task calendar to the one
that can't be worked on to ensure that nobody works.

Changing the Resource Calendar sets all the Resource's Tasks to work the
Weekend. To set a Task as requested, set that task only to a weekend
calendar?

I think there is a bit of ambiguity in the question. The first line
describes a single task which needs to continue into the weekend. It
then describes some projects (plural) that can continue into the weekend.

The most efficient approach would depend on what the exception condition
actually is.
