What exactly do you mean by, "...linear responsibility chart..."? We
need a whole lot more information before we can begin to help you.

I think he's talking about something akin to a cross-functional flowchart.

Sorry Student, there ain't no such critter built in to Project. Visio has
some tools to make it easy to create one but it'll be a by-hand process.
There's no way I know of to create one by importing Project's data.
