set-up of office 2003 product key invalid

i have installe windows xp professional on new laptop and
now when i attempt to open word under office it comes up
with a box asking for the product key and user name etc.
i enter all the details and it comes back with a message
that the product key is invalid. should i have another
product key besides what came on the xp professional
installation cd. very frustring as i cannot use word

Yes, the product key for Microsoft Office will not be the same as the
product key for WindowsXP. If you can't locate the code, contact the
