Hi Marcus,
for 100k users worldwide only Exchange can be your solution. ;-)
For Outlok 98/2000 there is a Microsoft program available (NetFolders) but
this is only a solution for a smal workgroup till 5 users and it is a
solution with a lot of bugs and deleted in Outlook 2002/2003 and you still
have Exchange installed.
I only want the diary to be shared amongst our department, about 30 users. There is a Public
Shared Folders available to me but that can be seen by all.
Then you still have Exchange.
As I understand it, I need to create a new Group Mailbox and then expend
its diary etc.
You can create a new Group Mailbox and you can limit the access to this
Mailbox for a number of users. You can ask the admin of the Exchange and he
can create this Mailbox.
I'd say that the
Public Shareware link was probably the answer but the global administrators of
our network would take forever to investigate and approve the idea.
The the most favorable solution is the new Mailbox for the group. If you
would like to test the Public Sharefolder solution you can send an email to
[email protected] and we will send you a license key to test the
software for a few weeks. ;-)

I looked at the links you posted, which were helpfull. I'd say that the

local solution is probably going to be best - I have to have this system up
and running before the Christmas break!
