Is there a way to set a default zoom and view type for excel:Mac?

Is there a way to set a default zoom and view type for excel:Mac?

For new workbooks' view type, take a look at the help topic "Change the
default view".

You can customize further, including setting a default zoom for new
workbooks, by customizing and saving a new blank workbook, naming it
"Workbook" (no quotes, no extension) and storing it in your Startup
folder (which by default is

HD:Applications:Microsoft Office 2004:Office:Startup:Excel

though you can change it in the Preferences/General dialog's Alternate
Startup Folder inputbox). This info can be found in the "default
workbook template" topic in Help.

Here is the problem with that. I have to remember to save as a
separate file name everytime I create a new document. Or all my
settings and data get saved into the default Workbook file.

it would be Nice to have a query to ask for the file name when clicking
command-S

any wya around this?

That indicates you saved the file as a workbook, not a template. I may
have forgotten to include that part - if so I'm sorry, but it IS
explicitly stated in the help topic that I also gave you.
