setting rules for hotmail in Outlook 2007

seems I can't set rules to act on my hotmail email. says something about not
supporting server based email, to check with email service provider. is there
a way to setup outlook to retreive hotmail like any other pop server and be
able to process rules and alerts?

Rules do not work with Hotmail or other HTTP accounts. Use the Outlook Connector to get your Hotmail in Outlook where you can use rules.

Rules don't work with outlook connector either. Looks like Outlook 2007
disregards rules when retrieving messages for HTTP based accounts.
Is there a solution?
