Setting task display in PWA 2007

Tony

Hi,

I am trying to set up the default tracking method for enter tasks as Hours
of work done per period. When i select the radio button under Task Settings
and Displays for this method and select the reporting display as weekly and
click save, the My Tasks window still shows start, finish and progress.

Do I also need to set the Timesheet period for this to show the correct
display?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Tony

What you are describing is one of the really confusing aspects of tracking
progress in Project Server 2007. You cannot see the default method of
tracking applied to the My Tasks page. Instead, on the My TAsks page click
the name of any task assignment and the system displays the Assignment
Details page for the selected tasks, showing the default method of tracking.
By the way, if you changed your default method of tracking after you already
have published projects in the system, then you must ask your PM's to open
and republish each of those projects. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

Thanks for the help, it makes sense now. A little bit different from PWA
2003, but I think better.

Do you know if there will be any online technical books as per the 2003 books?

Thanks

Tony

There's only a little bit of information out there right now on the
Microsoft site. I'm sure there will be more sooner than later. In
addition, we are currently writing our two books on Project Server 2007 for
project managers and for administrators. Hope this helps.
