Setting Text Box Default Bullet Styles

I've set-up default bullet styles in the Slide Master, but these default styles do not show up if you create a text box using the top nav toolbar. How do you set the template bullet styles as the default bullet styles for the text box?

Thanks - appreciate help on this.

Masters don't control the Text Boxes or other shapes you create yourself -
they only apply to the standard placeholder objects & slides.

Format the text box as you wish then Control/Right-Click its edge & select
Set As Default Text Box. Each text box you create in that file will be
formatted in that way. However, you'll have to do the same in each file
where you want that type of text box (or copy from an existing file). There
is no permanent default for text boxes or shapes unless you create a
Template & base new presentations on it.

Also, how do you set the default bullet styles in the toolbox? I've searched the help and the forum and can't find instructions on how to do this either.

Thanks

Thank you for the reply. Could you also address the second question I asked on this thread?

Thank you

I'm not sure what you mean by the second post. If you use the Format> Bullets
& Numbering dialog to make your settings they will carry over to the
Formatting Palette in the Toolbox. I'm not currently at a Mac to check but
there may be a means of accessing the dialog from the Formatting Palette - if
there is, however, it simply will take you to the same place I described
above.

In Format -> Bullet and Numbering, I don't see where you can change the default bullet styles that are shown in that menu. In other words, I want to change the default styles shown. Does that make more sense?

When you go into the dialog click on the style you want to replace then pick
a color, % of text size & open the list to select the character or picture
you want to replace the default character with.

Once applied to a text box adjust the indentation & spacing using the
symbols on the ruler. Line & Paragraph spacing can be set in Format>
Paragraph, apply whatever other formatting you want then Save As Default.

BTW - There isn't any customizing capability on the Formatting Palette but
the drop-down for bullet character Style provides access to the Bullets &
Numbering dialog.
