Office Developer edition can be used to do that. Because it allows you to
package a runtime version of Access (at no further charge beyond purchasing
Office Developer)
In case you were asking a different question, here are some answers to
questions you might ask: <g>
-You cannot create an "executable" out of Access. The only way to distribute
an Access database is if they already have MS-Access, or you can supply a
runtime version/Setup of Access if you have Office Dev.
-There are many setup programs besides the PDW supplied with Office Dev.
Installer2Go or Sagekey are two names which spring to mind. However, you still
need Office Dev if you want to distribute Access runtime.
-There can be version problems. You should only run an Access Database on the
version it is written in (or tested with).
-If you mean can you run an Access Database direct from CD, it is not
recommended. Firstly, a CD is read-only. Secondly, Access must be installed on
the recipient's computer. I prefer to use CD's just as a mechanism for copying
or installing.
-The short answer is Yes; it's perfectly standard to distribute databases via
some "Setup". The only question is "Which Setup?", and AFAIK each has it's own
quirks.
