Setup failed - Powerpoint 2002

Why am I getting an error when I try to install Powerpoint
2002. Getting a setup failed to locate a qualified
product on machine. I have Windows XP installed on the
computer by Dell. How do I get this key out there? I
have the original disk and 25 digit number but don't know
how o load it.

Wayne,

Is your powerpoint a "Full" version or an "upgrade"....as from your message
it looks like an upgrade. As it's trying to find an older version of
powerpoint to "qualify".

Windows XP does not qualify. Sorry.
I have the original disk and 25 digit number
Is this the number for Windows XP or the New PowerPoint?

Cheers

It is an upgrade we just bought from Best Buy. Says it is
compatible to XP but I do not have an older version of
Powerpoint on my Dell currently. Is that the problem,
meaning I need to buy the full version? The 25 digit
number mentioned is the original number for the Microsoft
XP diskettes.

That'd be the problem then. In order to upgrade PowerPoint, you have to
have a PowerPoint to upgrade.

You may want to see if Best Buy will let you exchange the upgrade version of
PowerPoint for a full version. You might also be able to buy an earlier
full version on eBay or the like. That'd give you something to upgrade
from.
