Shading Alternate Tasks & Calendar Rows

I have searched the forums and found a similar question where the response
was to insert a VBA Module. I tried that solution but it is not working. My
manager has requested that the calendar when printed has every second
row(task) shaded so it's easier to follow.

Is this possible?
I tried saving the file as an excel document but the format isn't what I want.

Hello whitewj,

What version of Project are you using? Project 2007 has the ability
to apply background colors to a selected task through Format > Font.
In a view showing the Task sheet on the left, select every other task
and apply the background color to the row. Please note, this option
does not exist in prior versions of Project (pre-2007).

As far as the calendar view, you can apply different date shading
using a custom calendar where you have made every other week
non-working time. Once you create the custom calendar (Tools > Change
Working Time) then apply the calendar through Format > Timescale, Date
Shading tab. This should work for all versions of project.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

One alternative is to modify the gridlines. You can set grid spacing to every
other line and also display the gridlines on the gantt chart side. Right
click on the gantt chart and select "Gridlines" then look through the various
options you have.

For Project 2007 you could shade the rows programmatically, but I don't have
a copy of 2007 to check it out.
