Shading text like the links in Table of Contents?

Chris

Is there a way to shade text like the links table of
contents so that it shows up when viewing the document in
Word, but doesn't show up when printing? Thanks in
advance for the help.

Chris.

Hi Chris,

Select the text, the press Ctrl+F9 to enclose it in Field delimiters and
enter the word Quote inside the opening { and enclose the text in quotation
marks as follows:

{ Quote "selected text " }

Under Tools>Options>View, turn on the shading of fields.

Thanks Doug. I followed your advice however,
the "selected text " doesn't show up when viewing (using
alt-F9 to hide the field code) or printing. Any ideas?
Thanks again.

Chris.

It won't show up when the document is printed, but if from the Tools menu,
you select Options and then View and select "Always" from the "Field
shading" pull down, it will always appear shaded. If you select "When
selected" from that pull down, it will appear shaded when it is selected.
If "Never" is selected, it will never appear shaded.
