Shape Data Positioning Visio 2007

I'm a bit new to Visio 2007 and have successfully linked shapes to an
external xls data file. Using the data graphics to display this
information seems like the best way to do this but I've encountered a
problem that I can not seem to find a fix for! All I want to do is
rotate the data graphics themselves (not with the shapes!) so that
they will be easily readable across the page. I also would love to
know if there is any way to maintain data and shape links while
unattaching the data graphics and positioning it wherever I would like
on the page. I would also like to be able to resize just the data
graphic after I've moved it. Surely all of this is possible, I just
can't seem to find anywhere in Visio where I can do this. Please help.

Those are not intended usages for Data Graphics. However, since a data
graphic is ultimately a collection of Visio shapes, there may be ways to
create your own data graphic callouts to do this. I haven't tried this, so
I'm just speculating.

If you haven't reviewed the articles on creating your own callout shapes,
