Shape on master slide

Hi,
Is this possible to add simple rectangle shape to master slide ?
I try do this but on slide created from that master I could not
change/remove that shape,

Shapes added to the Master/layout are not editable on the slides that
use that master/layout. Only the special placeholders will be editable
on the slide.
