Shapes resize when pasted

I am a veeeeeery new user to Visio. I am trying to copy org charts (created
without using the org chart template) into a newly created file based on the
org chart template (so that I can take advantage of the org chart features
for future updates). When I paste the existing charts into this new file
they come in smaller and in some cases the positioning of the boxes is off.
I notice that the grid appearance of the two files is not identical but I
have checked the grid spacing (Tools > Ruler & Grid...) and the settings are
the same in each file. I would just like to do a simple cut and paste
without Visio resizing the charts. I am using Visio 2007. Any ideas would
be greatly appreciated.

Check File > Page Setup > Drawing Scale and make sure that it's the same for
both cases.

Hello,

Thanks for responding. Both files are set to "No scale (1:1)." Any other
ideas?

Not really. All shapes are based on the Visio Org Chart Shapes Template,
pages have identical setup, scales are the same, then, all should be good.

But, since you used the template shapes to create your original drawing, you
can use the Wizard to export that drawing, say to an Excel file. Then, you
can use the Wizard to create a new drawing by importing the Excel file. Now,
both the file and the drawing will be consistent.

Not that sort of scaling.
menu Organisation Chart -> Options
and check the sizes in the Shape display section.

Well, my first attempt at this wasn't very successful but it's just because
it's all new to me. I'll keep trying.

Thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.
