Shapes with Single Connection Point

1. I am using a shape which has only 1 connection point. When i use BeginX and EndXin my code with a cell object. Using GlueToPos command to the desired shape, It throws up an error of "Inappropriate target object"
Where as the same code to glue with other shapes has more than 1 connection point works properly

2. I am not able to alter the shape with respect to height and Width

Can anybody guide me to solve this problem. It will be a real help
