Shared appointments not appearing

I'm setting up a shared calendar system for my office. Currently my office
mate can see the calendar names, but none of the appointments I've added to
them. I've got her set as an owner. She needs to be able to see and modify
calendars.

What can I do to have this information appear? I'm also wondering what the
lag time is between one person adding an appointment before another person
can see it on their calendar.
