Shared Borders

I am using FP on a non windows server for the 1st time. Are shared borders
suppose to show up on the web page ...does in FP but not the web page
itself. Front Page extensions are installed on the server and I am using FP
to access the server/ web files.

Yes, share border should appear on your pages, as long as the server has the extensions.

I just got a new computer and it has 2003 on it. I can't
get navigation to show up in either my shared border or
in the middle of the page using Insert, Navigation, Link
Bars, bar based on navigation structure.

I've tried several servers and I'm not having any luck.
Is this a 2003 problem?

Not sure if it's really a problem or not but I have noticed I have to play
around with them to get them to show up sometimes...

Can you define play around? I've been screwing with them
all afternoon and can't get them to work.

Thanks

For 2003 it is not recommended to use shared borders, and it comes by
default with them turned off. The new layout etc tools are much better than
shared borders, but some websites done with 2002 still have them, so 2003
has them available for compatibility.

As a side note, I have not been able to find an easy way to get rid of the
shared borders in a website that I am updating - seems like I am having to
do each page individually to get rid of them.

Also, most DHTML navigation only seems to work right when placed in the
bottom shared borders.
