sharepoint 2.0 and project 2007 integration

J

John_JXL

hello - I have recently upgraded to project 2007 from project 2003 standard
and as a result appear to have started having a number of issues with
sharepoint services 2.0 integration, for example

(a) files are "locked" even though the status is not "checked out"
(b) project 2007 frequently crashes at the point I "save and check in" the
..mpp file to sharepoint [note I am saving as 2003 as all other users are on
project 2003]

Does anyone know if sharepoint 2.0 works well with project 2007?

also everyone else is on 2003 so I am saving down to 2003, but does this
cause problems when used in conjunction with sharepoint?

I am just using the basic document management functionality in sharepoint
only.

(I also posted this question to the sharepoint forum as it is not clear
whether sharepoint or project is the issue here).

Thanks,
John.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the guidance - I have posted this specific question on the other
forum.

The previous issue was related to 2007 operating in desktop / standalone mode.

On a slightly broader question, we are about to upgrade to Project Server
2007 - do you know if it is a pre-requisite to upgrade to sharepoint services
3.0 also (which the product info docs seem to suggest)?

Or can we run project server 2007 independently of sharepoint services?

Thanks,
John.

Hi John,

I know little of servers or SharePoint as I don't have access to one - hence
my directing you to the server newsgroup.

You can not run Project Server without Sharepoint. Proj 2007 installs WSS 3.0
by default.
