SharePoint Configuration Wizard.

I'm trying to install project server on a windows 2003 server.
I've done the following:
Installed SharePoint Services:
Configured the Admin virtual server
Set up a new configuration database (database resides on another
machine).
Extended the virtual server with a new content database (content
database resides on the same machine as the configuration database).
Run the windows sharepoint services configuration wizard.
When I run this I get the following error:

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the
range of valid values.
Parameter name: '0' is not a valid value for 'value'.

Note... The database has another instance of a sharepoint
configuration and content database)

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
