Sharepoint Designer Alerts

I have added a condition to a list. To get the condition to change, I have to
provide a style. When I do so, the style is applied to the entire row in the
list, not the one field that I made the condition on.

I this how a condition works in Designer or is there somthing I can do to
have the style only apply to the field I did the condition on?
