Sharepoint Designer has SHAREPOINT NO TEMPLATES

Since SharePoint Designer isn't part of Office, I was going to direct you to
a SharePoint Designer newgroup via
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx ,
but I can't find one there!

Anyway, a Front Page/Expression Web MVP tells me that SPD and Expression
Web should be the same with regard to templates, so try File | New | Website
and then look in the category list on the left -- probably the second entry
there.

When I select Web Site, General has only three, then Templates and Sharepoint
Templates are completely blank...

Hi Echo,

MS Office Sharepoint Designer is still a part of the MS Office product family :) The discussion group is available through the link
below (also you can usually use the
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.frontpage.client newsgroup).

Same happens to me, did you find a solution to this problem? These are
the facts:

I have all the system requirements, running a server 2003 and WSS 3.0.
I try using it also in a Virtual Machine but no luck either.

Ah, sorry.

I did ask around about this, and it seems SPD doesn't come with templates.
Wish I had a better answer for you.

lol -- I don't think I'll be much help here! But thanks for the screenshots.

You know, I think someone mentioned something about the templates being on
the SharePoing site, not included in SharePoint Designer. But it also sounds
as if this error you're seeing is different, although it may be related.

Let me see if I can find a better place for you guys to ask these questions,
anyway. I'm really out of my depth with SP stuff since I'm not in an
environment where it's actually used. :)

appreciated :)

Hi guys ...

Have you try this ...???

When you are in your "New" windows you have 3 choices ... "General",
"Template" and "SharePoint Template" ... Under "SharePoint Template" verify
if your path is pointing to your web site instead of the default local path
....

Just a guess ...

Thanks
Frank
