SharePoint Error when trying to edit Users & Resources

We have Project Server 2007 and were able to load our users via AD
Sync and subsequently tagged them as Resources available for
projects. So I was able to edit Users and Resources in the past.

Now when I try to edit Users or Resources I get the following error:
Unknown Error
Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services. <== this is a
link to the "Troubleshoot common site issues" help page which is not
helpful at all.
I do have generic resources that I created from scratch (not via AD
sync) that I can get into and edit.

I have tried to run the AD Sync but have had not success.

Any ideas??

We have a similar problem. The sync is 'succeeded' but when we click on the r
user, we can't edit them with the same error as mentioned by Caryle. What we
see is that we have only problems with users who have a windows account with
a lowecase domain name:

e.g.

domain\user1 fives the error
DOMAIN\user2 works fine

I've looked in the underlying tables on the SQL 2005 (SP2) server. Those
useraccounts with a lowercase domainname don't have a GUID either.

Is someone familiar with this problem?

We could open several resources, but several other give problems (see my
description in my earlier post which one). It look likes that resources that
are added recently have this problem, although we did not change te EPM
configuration.

Whe have looked in de configuration if one of the application administrator
maybe have changed the domain name or something like that. But the domain
name is a fully qualified domain name like domain.company.nl. The netbios
name is domain.

The account itself are listed like: domain\account1 and DOMAIN\account2. The
accounts with the lowercase domain name are having the problem and can't be
editted.

We want to delete those accounts now , to create them manually (as a
temporaly workaround), but some of the accounts are check out (but are not
listed when you want to check them in).

So, we are stuck here for some aacounts. We can't change them and we can't
delete them.
