SharePoint List Referenced in InfoPath

Good Afternoon,

I created a data connection to a SharePoint list and I am able to successful
use the form, but when other users try to access the form, they get the
following error:

The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized:
LPARSelections
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: LPARSelections
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
Access is denied."

What am I doing wrong? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi--

That error would make me wonder if the users who are filling out the form
have permissions to read the SharePoint list that you are using in your
dataconnection. I would verify that -- go to the list and see if the same
users have at least read permision.

Thanks--

Yes I thought of that and although I don't want the user's to have
contribute rights to these lists, they do have read rights.

Wow, then I'm not sure what could cause that. Perhaps it is something else in
the data connection itself? You could try recreating it.

Hi-
I recreated the lists and I still receive the following error:

The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized:
LPARSelections
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: LPARSelections
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
Access is denied.

When I check off the Automatically Retrieve Data check box for the data
connections, then I don't receive the error but then there is nothing to
select in the drop down lists that are referencing the SharePoint
lists....someone please help!

Thanks,
LyLy

Another thought -- do your users have Integrated Authentication selected in
IE?

Hi Hilary,
Our SharePoint environment uses Active Directory Authentication. Does this
answer your question correctly?

Internet Explorer has a setting under Tools/Advanced in the security section
to enable integrated windows authentication. I have sometimes seen that
ensuring this was checked to help with permissions issues.

Hi Hilary,

I checked that setting and it is already checked off. Thank you for your
ideas, it you think of anything else PLEASE let me know.

Thanks,
LyLy

LyLy,

Try having the user(s) who experience this error go directly onto SharePoint
and view the list. If they can see the list under their own authentication
then you have eliminated access as being the problem. You can then move onto
troubleshooting any problems happening in the interface between InfoPath and
SharePoint.

Hope this helps,
