Hi,

I have to use STS from outside(by using fully
qualified domain name. But i can't access from outside.
Although i can access all features of project server by
using PWA from outside(like from home)without any problem
and when i try to see any project server page URL, it
shows correct URL(i.e. servername.domainname.com)but when
i go to risk/issue/documents to add risk for any project,
it shows the local address (i.e. ServerName/sites...)
Then where i need to configure to change this url to
correct URL.(remember i m not using any proxy server)

I really need your helps guys...common looking forward
towards ur expert advise. Thanks for your reply in advance.

I have the same issue. I have tracked it down to the PS/WSS sites URL. It is under the 'Manage Windows Sharepoint Services' - 'Connect to Sharepoint Server' and is the second line 'Create a site under this Sharepoint URL'. I keep getting an error when I change mine from http://server:80/sites to https://my.domain.com:443/sites. The error says that PS cannoc connect to WSS. Howver, if I try to use https://server:443/sites I get an error about SSL errors.
I am doing self signed certs using Certificate Services and have separate certs for the default site, sharepoint admin, and administration web sites.

I don't have an answer either and hope someone can help.

When you created EPM 2003 Solution (Project Server 2003 Server, WSS, Project
2003 Client), you were asked for a URL to create Project Server 2003 under.
Same for WSS that Project Server 2003 - the WSS Project provisioned;
therefore, keep in mind that the WSS needs to also be accessible from
"outside" or Internet. The virtual Servers that WSS and Project creates
must both be accessible from "outside."

Hi,

we do have the same problem. Both separate servers do have their own FQDN
entries (http://wss.company.com and http://project.company.com), and are both
accessible via those entries. Both can ping and resolve those FQDNS. All
clients do so, too. But when I enter the FQDN info in Project Server for the
connection, it does not find a WSS. Only hostnames do work.

Is there any place where I can supply the FQDN for the WSS in the WSS admin
or even the database (e.g. table "Sites" where I find the hostname for the
site)?

Thanks,

Marco

For those trying to do this, I must ask; If WSS requires Windows
authentication and Project Server must pass the credentials to WSS, how do
you propose to pass those credentials making a call across the Internet?

Gary,

we do have both Basic and Windows Authentication enabled for the WSS and the
Project Server.

SO, if the user is logged in to PS using basic auth., would a login box
pop-up for the WSS?

Thanks and have a nice weekend,

Marco
