Sharepoint services

Hi new here and hoping someone can help.
I run a couple of websites and have been doing so for approx 3 years. All
sites are kept on my harddrive and developed fairly regularly. HOWEVER I have
been trying to acess them for the last 2 dyas, as i normally do by opening
frontpage and then picking the site I want to work on but have been getting
the following message

Server error: The URL "C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents|My
Webs\vbfwebsite" is not contained within a Windows Sharepoint Services site.

I can see the folders and I can open individual pages one at a time but
cannot save them or open a web.

REALLY HOPING SOME ONE CAN HELP ME

Hi David,

I'm afraid I have not contacted them as I presumed being as the folders were
on my hard drive it was something that I had done locally.

Regards,

Leigh

If it's local then you need to use File, Open Site and put in
http://localhost/webname. You can't use this from a disk based web (ex:
C:\My Documents\My Web) You need to be running Windows XP Pro with IIS
(Internet Information Server installed) and then open your disk-based web
and publish it to http://localhost/webname
