Sharepoint site without publishing project

We began using MS Project and Sharepoint Team Services
recently. We have a project that is in progress and would
like to begin using the Team Website to track issue and
documents. However, this project does not have a project
plan. Can you create a Sharepoint team site without
publishing a project plan? If so, how?

I have found that you can go to the following and create a
subweb to track issues independently of Project Plans:

- Admin
- Manage SharePoint Team Services subwebs
- Manage Subwebs
- Click on the hyperlink to Go to the SharePoint site
administration for XXX
- Scroll to the bottom and click on Create a Subweb.

- Once the subweb is created, you just need to provide
the users the URL which is typically http://SERVER/WEBSITE.

You can then share documents, contacts, issues, etc.

Hope this helps.
