MAIN ISSUE

When invoking a sharepoint site from EPM, the URL that is cobbled by EPM
contains the servername: not the FQDN.

RESOLUTION TO MAIN ISSUE

Under the ‘Connect to SharePoint server’, there is a field: ‘Connect to
SharePoint serverâ€. I believe that putting the FQDN here would solve the
MAIN ISSUE. I have performed the recommended four validation procedures
(bottom of the web page) before attempting to save the URL changes. I
receive this error message:

The specified Windows account must be a valid user on the specified
SharePoint server computer. Furthermore, the Windows account must be in the
SharePoint Central Administrators group. To add the Windows account to the
SharePoint Central Administrators group, navigate to the SharePoint Central
Administration page and add the account in the SharePoint Administrator group.

ACTION TAKEN

Ran PSCOMplus to update WSS account to DOMAIN\Administrator (where DOMAIN is
the domain name) instead of SERVERNAME\Administrator (server restart
required).
“Project Server remotely administers the Web server running Windows
SharePoint Services through DOMAIN\Administrator. “

I went to the SharePoint Central Administration page and clicked on: ‘Set
SharePoint administration group’. I set SharePoint Administration Group
account to: DOMAIN\Domain Admins. I still get the error message from above.

QUESTIONS

I realize that there is a lot of info here: I hope that it has been
concisely presented in an intuitive order.

Have I added the windows account to the Sharepoint Central Administrators
group (I think not)? Which leads me to where is this done? Specifically,
what are the URLs I need to click on to effectively navigate to the page that
allows me to set the Sharepoint Central Administrators group.

Do I need to use proxycfg.exe to save these Sharepoint URLs?

Thanks!
