Sharing access 2000 datbase

I am trying to share my database with one other user and I have read on
here about people saying that it is safer and best to split the
database. My question is if the database is split is it still possible
to create new queries and what happens if I just want to see what is in
the tables will I have access to them.

Second problem right now the database is on central server when I try
to open the database I get the XP security warning and I click open
access launches and then it gives me an error saying that the file is
located outside my intranet or not listed in my trusted sites. It then
ask me to copy the file onto my computer to open it. The problem is to
constantly continue to move the several databases totaling at an
average of 400mb apiece back and forth is a little time consuming what
can I do to solve this problem.

1. Yes. You create linked tables which behave in the same way as normal
tables. The only change being their design cannot be modified. To modify the
table you need to open the 'back-end' DB.

2. This can be solved by adding the name of your domain (workgroup I think)
to the local intranet zones in Internet Explorer. Open Internet Options,
select Security, then select Local Intranet, then select Sites. Next select
Advanced & add your domain (e.g. *.mydomain.com)

Ok, the domain security did not work. i am going to have my database
administrator take a look at that problem. Where do i get the front end
part of the database I need. I split the database so what do I need to
install on the workstations
