sharing documents with TOCs

I created a document in Word 2000 with a TOC in a
scrollable frame. However, when I try to send this
document to others it will not open unless I send with it
the original document without the TOC and another
document which is just the TOC that Word seems to have
automatically created. The mail recipient has to open
both the original document without TOC and the TOC-only
document before the document with both of them will open.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you!
