sharing forms among the office

Matt

Hi Folks,
If I develop a set of forms for overall office use by everyone will everyone
need a copy of InfoPath to use them? If not, what must I do to make them
usable for everyone? Thanks!

Hi Matt,

Yes, you would need InfoPath for data entry. If you need a viewer only,
here are your options:

You can start by reading:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011309641033.aspx

But here is a more detailed summary of some of your other options:

Option 1: You can turn an InfoPath form into HTML for display only
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...tml/ipsdkUsingTheDownLevelTool_HV01081784.asp

Option 2: You can develop your own viewer. Do do so, you can start from any
of these free C# Viewer (with code):
2.a.

2.b.

2.c. http://blogs.msdn.com/bowerm/articles/211757.aspx

Option 3: You can buy a commercial-grade one (some have some level of data
entry support!):
3.a. Check Patrick and Greg's Web Site:
http://www.infopathdev.com/webstore/detail.aspx?itemid=11
3.b. nVision:
http://www.nvisionit.co.za/Default.aspx?tabid=92
3.c. InfoJet:

3.d. Check InfoView:
www.infoview.net
3.e. Check InfoScope:

3.f. Check WebConnector (if you speak french!):

Thanks Frank! My users would need to input data through these forms, so given
Option 3 doesn't provide my needs, I will have to bite the bullet and provide
InfoPath to all who need to input data right? Thanks for the help!

yes, to make a long story short, if you want to provide full data entry
support with no headaches, you may want to just deploy InfoPath on all
machines.

Good luck

Would the XML basis give me any leeway or is that pretty much still where we
leave off here? Thanks for the help Frank!

You are welcome. By the way, Office 12 will solve that issue.
If my post was useful to you, don't hesitate to rate it, so that other users
