sharing one inbox

R

Roger Van Loon

I have Outlook Express 6 on a home PC (Win XP) which is used by two
people. I have given them separate identities (in OE). Is it possible
to have those two identities share just one inbox? No privacy is
needed.
The reason is: the PC uses one ISP account, which means one mailbox,
with the possibility of several adresses (aliases). So each identity
can have its own E-mail address for sending - but all the incoming
messages are stored in the inbox of whatever identity is logged on at
the moment. If there were just one inbox, it would be easy to apply
message rules to store them in separate subfolders.
If it is possible - is there then a drawback to such a setup?
Thanks in advance.
Roger.

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

You can also find some good Outlook Express information here:

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Roger Van Loon asked:
