Sharing Project Pro Client?

R

Richard Budel

Hi all, thanks in advance for your consideration of this.

Problem: I need to provide three resources with the ability to build and
make modifications to a project plan.

Constraint: The frequency with which they will use the Project Pro client is
extremely low - 3-5 changes per week - and therefore I do not want to
purchase additional client licenses. These people are not our project
managers; each of our PMs is fully licensed and functional. (ok, some are
dysfunctional, but I meant from a MS Project perspective.)

Question: Can I setup a shared install of MS Project Pro on a network drive,
and let the three resources do their work that way?

thx - richard

Richard, it's my understanding that you can license per user or per desktop
machine. I don't think Microsoft supports what you're asking for, unless the
users share one workstation for this purpose. You should rely only on
licensing information provided to you directly by Microsoft or a
knowledgeable reseller such as SHI or CDW. Your reseller likely has a
resource that can help you understand what's kosher.
