Sharing question

Hi
From searching through the posts on sharing databases, I've determined there
are two ways you can share a database. You can split it into front and
backends. Or you can choose to open the database as "shared" rather than
"exclusive" under Tools, Options. These to me sounds much easier and
simplier. I'd really appreciate learning when you should use each of these
methods. My database will be shared by 6 people on a LAN.
Many thanks
Anne

Anne,

When your database will be used concurrently by more than one person,
the database should be split into frontend and backend files. The core
data tables should be in the backend file, which should be on the
server. And then each user should have their own copy of the frontend
application file, located on their local machine, and linking to the
backend tables.

Okay thanks Steve. Does this mean each time I want to make a change to a
form, query or report, I'll need to reload the front end onto each machine?
