Sharing Word 2000 document looks different between users

Winston

I have an employee that has created a two column document
that with some graphics that looks fine on her computer,
but things look screwed up after she has e-mailed it to
me. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks,

Winston

Hi Winston,

This happens because Word reconfigures the document to
suit the setup of the computer that it's being viewed on.
If you need to keep the appearance unchanged, you'd need
to convert the document to PDF format - but I'd only
recommend doing this for a 'final' version.

.

Can you point me to a knowledge base article or something
that states this on the MS site. I'd like to link to it
on our faq page. I've searched but can't find anything.

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

I don't know of any particular knowledge base article on
this - my advice is based on years of experience using
Word on PCs with configurations that varied
greatly/minimally.

I've even things as trivial as a change in screen refresh
rates or a print driver parameter change the layout of a
document on the same PC!

Cheers
