Sharing Word Templates on a network

Is there anything special I need to do when I want to share a document
template with other users on a network besides save the template to a network
drive (rather than the templates folder)? I am using Word 2007 Windows XP.

Thanks!

You might want to right-click the file you copy to the network share, select
the properties option, and then select the read-only checkbox.

That way, no one can modify it accidentally and would need to save a new
copy if they try to change the file on the network share.

I forgot to add that if you do that but need to change the template later,
you'll either have to clear the read-only checkbox and make your changes, or
just delete and then replace the file with a new copy.

Lots of people forget they've set a document to read-only but you'll see
"(Read-only)" at the top of the document, next to the title, when you open
it.

I know nothing of sharing templates. Previously I used to copy my normal.dot
to a disk and copy that onto someone elses pc. I no longer have a disk drive
on my new pc and would like to know how I can make my templates available to
others. We are all networked.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.
