Shopping cart recommendation into Frontpage

Hello,
I am creating a website in Frontpage to start my own little business selling
candles. Can anyone recommend a shopping cart facility which I can rent per
year or buy that is not too expensive. I am aware that Paypal offer free
software but I do nott wish to pay the fees if someone were to buy from my
website using paypal. So I'm looking for a shopping cart which can be:
not too expensive, easy to incorporate into Frontpage and easy to use, as I
am just a beginner. Many thanks.

You do realize that you'll have to pay some fees (comparable to PayPal's)
regardless of what type of merchant account/gateway you use?

If you're a beginner and just trying out a new business, PayPal is probably
the best choice, since it won't cost you anything to set up.

In addition to Patty's reply, PayPal only charge you when you have a sale, others charge a monthly
charge that applies whether or not you have any sales.

I built my site with FP and use Mal's e-commerce shopping cart to collect my
orders. You have the option there of accepting credit cards via a gateway,
via PayPal, Authorize.net, or many other online card processors. If you don't
want to accept caredit cards, then in the shopping cart setup you can specify
checks or money orders only, email orders, or whatever you want to use.
Mal's cart is easy to set up and easily integrates into Front Page.

Have you looked into setting up your own credit card merchant account?
You'll be faced with much higher fees than using Paypal! Usually there's
setup fee, monthly minimums, contracts... etc. It's a PITA if your a small
business. You may find it easier/cheaper/more effective to get started with
Paypal and then migrate to your own cart & merchant account later. JMO.

And, if you are really considering setting up your own merchant account...be
REALLY careful with the cheapos on the net. I'd recommend dealing with your
own bank where you have your business account at, even though it might seem
a little more expensive. I've had some bad experiences with credit card
resellers...be careful !!
