shopping cart

Beth

Hi, I am the manager at a gallery and I maintain the website
(www.inkwellgallery.com). I am very proficient in using Microsoft Frontpage,
however the owner wants me to make the webpage like a store using a "shopping
cart". I have no idea how to do this. They want to use Paypal Website
Payments Pro, but then you have to pick a shopping cart company I think. Can
someone recommend one? Also once we decide what to use, how do I integrate
it and make it work with the website how I currently have it? They want me
to do this this weekend and have it working by next week. Please help!!!!!
Thanks

Have you visited Paypal.com? There should be instructions on their site on
integrating with FrontPage.

Beth, even for those of us that do shopping cart, two days is not enough time to implement and test
a custom designed shopping cart correctly. If you can locate a off the shelf solution that meets
your needs as developed, then yes you can do this in two days. First, since they want to you PayPal,
visit

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_merchant-outside

You would also need to check with your host about installing the PayPal API
Also you will need to purchase a SSL Certificate for the domain.

Hi Beth:

I use paypal for my husband's personal chef site (Natureschef.com), and I
did not have to do anything like what the other person said.

I didn't need to purchase a certificate or anything else, as our shopping
cart is hosted on PayPal, which is secure. I set up a page listing the
services with a "buy now" and a "shopping cart" button from PayPal, tested
it, and we were on our way.

PayPal provides an instruction manual on their site about how to set up your
"for sale" items that I recommend you read before you start. It took me less
than 30 minutes to get set up, but we only have about 5 items on the site
that we use this with. It was *very* easy. If you have trouble (some of the
intructions are a little opaque) call their tech support and they will walk
you through everything.

Good luck!

You do need to have SSL if you want the customer to stay on your site to make the purchase and use
the new PayPal Website Payments Pro.

But you don't if you don't want to do it that way, and she never said that
was a requirement......she just said she needed to use PayPal.

No point in making things more complicated than they have to be.
