I installed FrontPage 2003 after which my Office2000 shortcut bar fails to
open at startup. I can manually start it but how do I get it back to start
automatically?

Try this: Start the shortcut bar, then right-click the small gary box at
the extreme left end of the bar. Yu should get a menu with several
choices, including Exit. Click Exit, and you should get a dialog box
asking whether you want it to start automatically when you start Windows.
Click Yes, then restart to test.

That sounds like the problem but I don't know how to fix it. I've found
several Startup folders. 1 in Windows shows nothing in it (I don't have files
hidden) but when I click on its properties it shows 84kb.

If you don't see anything in the Windows Startup folder then you don't
have a shortcut to the OSB (MSOffice.exe). 84kb is about the size of
an empty folder.

If you are using a shortcut to manually start the OSB then right-drag
the shortcut to the Windows Startup folder and when prompted select
"Create shortcut here".

I put the shortcut to the OSB to
windows\system32\config\systemprofile\StartMenu\Programs\Startup. It didn't
work. Is there another folder it should be in? Thanks for your help

Just put the shortcut in the Windows Startup folder you find in the
Start/Programs menu. You can drag/drop directly on the Start/Programs
menu - you don't have to use the Windows Explorer.
