shortcut to a document in a public folder

Hello;

Is it possible to create a message in outlook 2000 and than create a
shortcut in this message to point to a document in a public folder?

I've been asked to set this up on our system. The reason is because our
exchange server is running low on hard drive space. The secretaries here have
to email out messages to all employees and these messages sometimes contain
unusually large attachments. Also numerous employees call after an emailing
such as this and complain that they are receiving warning messages that their
inboxes are reaching their limits.

I found the answer...I'm posting it should anyone else run into this problem:

Instead of a shortcut, I used a hyperlink instead. There are 2 articles on
the Microsoft web site that I used:

1) Article ID: 225007 "OL2000:Using Hyperlinks to Access Outlook Folders and
Items

2) Article ID: 296071 "OL2002:Hyperlink Returns an error message when you
use the outlook protocol".
