Hi Tomar,
The updates through
http://officeupdate.com are intended to keep the entire purchased Office product complete and current, not just
the presently selected features/subset.
French, English and Spanish proofing tools are included
in the Office XP and 2003 product CDs, i.e. the updates
are those that apply for the product you purchased.
To 'hide' any of the recommended updates you can use
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate which provides both Windows and
Office XP/2003 updates, rather than
http://officeupdate.com
Different localized language editions of Office come with
different area languages. For the English language edition
of MS Office you can add additional language tools
with Office Proofing Tools Kit.

==========I keep getting Auto updates for French Grammer etc. As I speak no other
language than English, this, to me is a complete waste of time. Office
updates tell me my system needs these updates. I believe the language updates
should be available to all, inc "all" languages ,but let it be a preference
,and 'not' an automatic update. <<
