Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I just bought new Mac Snow Leopard. I installed Office 2008. I don't use Visual Basics and I don't write scripts. Migration Assistant brought 2004 over; any reason I don't know about for keeping 2004 on the new computer?
Thanks!

No need to keep Office 2004 applications or Identities. Use "Remove Office"
found in the Additional Tools folder in the Office for Mac folder in
Applications.

Verify that "Remove Office" got the Spotlight cache files for 04.

"YOUR USER FOLDER/Library/Caches/Metadata/Microsoft/Entourage"

Thanks, Diane. If you can help me out a bit more, are you saying the "Remove Office" would be in the Office 04 set, and would it remove only 04? Or it's in the 08 set and I should make sure it only finds 04 files? (Not that it'd be the end of the world if it removed the wrong one, but just so I don't waste time and effort.)

It finds all versions on your computer and any drives attached. It does show
by version number Office X, Office 2004, Office 2008. If there is more than
one copy of 04 then you can hold your cursor over each and a path will pop
up on a yellow banner to show the location.
