Should I uninstal preinstalled trial before installing purchased program?

The new ACER laptop I purchased has a pre-installed Office 2007 H&S trial.
Since I am purchasing a license from a retailer, should I uninstall it
before installing the purchased package? Or can I just use the license code
to convert the trial to a licensed version? I do not do that by using the
CONVERT feature of trial since retailer price il 50% of Microsoft price.
